Really the easy way is just to set it up. If I recall correctly there is a question about your age being 18. If you say no then they insist that an adult come forward, and I think give a credit card number and all. However, truthfully if YOU are over 18 you answer correctly by saying yes. Just go ahead.

As any parent should you need to decide how much you oversee what your child does on the internet.

It's possible that his account was deactivated after no one logged-in to the account for a while.
Reply:No. Email account have to be deleted after you log on with his ID and password. If you find out what that is just go to OPTIONS on your email page...then MAIL ADDRESSES. You will find a box in there with the email address with the option to delete it..Further after clicking on OPTIONS ..you can then click on ACCOUNT INFORMATION (located on the left side in the box) and you can edit all the info...erase it

I'd be concerned too, that's not safe to have your account open with no password!

I noticed a new feature on the sign-in page on Yahoo... there is a box to check at sign-in that says something like "Keep me signed in for two weeks".... did you happen to check that box when you were signing in last time?

Be sure before you close your browser window to click 'sign out', do the same with your messenger. If this doesn't sign you out of your account, then you should probably contact customer service and ask them to help you with this problem.

Reply:Yahoo has introduced a new technology that keeps you logged on to yahoo services for two weeks until and unless you click sign out. You must have let a check box clicked, which tells that 'keep me logged on for 2 weeks unless i sign out'(not the exact words but this is what it means)

so wen ever u open your yahoo mail , it bypasses the asking of your password. This is safe if u r the only one using the computer, but if ne 1 else is using it, and if that person opens yahoo mail, ur account will open. To disable this, just signout from your mail the next time rather than jus closing it from the top.

If you want to open to email accounts for your 2 daughters just go to yahoo or msn.com and click on mail or hotmail and follow the instructions. I suggest you let them pick out the username because if you dont you'll never here the end to it.

When trying to send a message to all my friends, I get a message that there are too many addresses in my bcc address line. Since I have more than 6 friends, this ymail account seems to be non useful to me. I didn't have this problem in my old yahoo address.

You need to check your emails and make sure they are in properly. It should work if the addresses is right.

Well their is no 100% way to know for sure but their is something you can do to protect you main account.

Heres How:

Make a separate account (often called a Dummy account) one you don't care about getting spam such as hotmail, something free this will allow you to still sign up on sites you want to sign up on with out spamming your main e-mail address.

So when you go to sign up for a site give them the Dummy account this will keep you main account in box from getting spammed.

As far as what you are already getting you can only block the senders.. Don't reply to them and Don't click on any links they may have in them.

One of the biggest ways people get spam is by signing up on web sites.

Sending a response especially to a non-reputable sender only confirms that your address is good and you should expect to see more junk.

Reputable senders have opt-in or remove clauses on their website.

A few days ago, my mailbox said that I had 65525 new emails!!! When I opened my box, there were no new messages. Now I'm getting an error that says unusual activity has occured and I am suspended from sending, receiving for 48 hours. I have sent an email to Yahoo help, but I was wondering if anyone else was having any problems.

Yahoo has been having major server issues since at LEAST Jan. 10, seemingly just with particular servers. And what's happening to you (including the "phantom" e-mails) is unfortunately one of the many problems that people are having because of them, and Yahoo doesn't seem to be in any particular hurry to solve them. Their "tech support" is nothing but a joke right now. And the problems are not just w/Yahoo Beta or IE7; I and others not using either are having similar problems. But both do have more problems; if you're using Beta, it's still in the testing stage and has a lot of problems, so go back to original Yahoo mail, and the same w/IE7, go back to IE6 until MS irons out all the problems.

I've had to use another acct.provided free by my ISP to send/rcv important e-mails since Jan. 10, and it's been working just fine the whole time. If you don't have another acct.w/another provider besides Yahoo, I'd strongly advise to get one; it makes a good backup in case of problems like this.

Please see my posting from Fri. Jan. 12 under the heading "Anyone having problems of any kind w/Yahoo Mail, PLEASE READ THIS" for more info and on reporting problems to Yahoo.

And since that original posting, they've also sent another e-mail that they've escalated the problem (or should I say problems!) to their engineering department, which is an indication of major problems, and not just a minor S/W "glitch."

My first suggestion is to use your ISP, Internet Service Provider mail accounts if you are having problems that can't be corrected by going back to IE6 and Yahoo! Original Mail!!!

To get in mail:

You will have less problems with original mail if you sign in via Messenger! Go to preferences, general, then check box: Automatically sign me in when I click a Yahoo! link in Messenger. Or go to My Yahoo and click on your mail link. Or Click on the Big RED Y! on the Yahoo! Toolbar. Bottom line is any link that already has you signed in!!!

This has been going on for over a couple of months now. It is a server problem between IE7 and BETA MAIL.

CAN NOT FIND SERVER: Go to Tools, Internet Options and on the general tab, Delete Cookies, Temporary Files and Clear History. That should do it for you!

I believe it will solve MOST, MOST, all the problems people are having if you Switch Back to Original Mail, until it is out of the TESTING STAGE. AND IF YOU HAVE IE7 or IE8, uninstall it by going to Start Control Panel/Settings and then Add and Remove Programs. Try it and if it doesn't solve your problem just SWITCH BACK TO BETA MAIL!

You can't delete your Yahoo! Answers account completely, but you can make it nearly invisible.

All the questions or answers you've submitted that are "in voting" or "resolved" are now permanently a part of Yahoo! Answers. Yahoo basically owns those answers. You can report your resolved questions and answers to Yahoo as "violating Community Guidelines" and they may remove your content at your request, but you also risk deletion of your entire account if you acquire too many violation notices.

You can delete any questions and answers you've posted that are still "open". Make sure to remove all questions from your watch list and remove all stars you've given to other people's questions.

Next, go to the "My Profile" link next to the "Search for Questions" options so that you're viewing your own profile. Then click the "Edit My Info" link to the right of your personal stats. The rest of what you need to do will be accomplished from that screen

Remove all personal information you've posted in your profile and make sure to disable the options to contact you by email or messenger. Also make sure to disable the link to your 360 (only for those who have a 360).

Reply:You don't delete an Answers account, but you can simply stop using it. The only way to cancel would be to cancel the ENTIRE Yahoo account associated with the user name. If you don't want to do that, the best thing to do is to set your Q's %26amp; A's to private and to choose the option to not allow fans or contacts, and remove any personal information you may have added to your profile. You do that by going to your profile and clicking on "Edit My Info". Once you've made the suggested changes, be sure to click "Preview" and "OK" to save your changes. The best method would be to simply remove all contacts and fans, make your profile private, disable email and IM communication, and (if you wanna go through the trouble) delete any questions and answers of yours that haven't been resolved.

Of course that won't have the same effect as deleting the whole account, but it's the best you can do.

But you can make them invisible with the following steps.

* Blank out your avatar to the grey silhouette.

* Change your nickname or just leave it blank.

* Close any links to your 360, and email.

* Delete your open questions and answers.

* Set your Network and Q%26amp;A to private.

* Delete your contacts and fans. To delete fans block then remove block.

Then just leave it. After you've applied the alterations no search will find your Q%26amp;A,s. You can then close that yahoo account and open a new one if you want.

That would be mail forwarding, and usually it's a premium service offered by your email provider. Yahoo, for example, allows forwarding (all messages received are resent to an address you choose) OR POP mail access (to read your mail offline in Microsoft Outlook or Outlook Express) for a fee.

To have email sent according to filtered results (I.E.: Business related messages sent to one address, personal messages sent to another address) would require using an email server such as Exchange or an actual SMTP Server to do the filtering and forwarding for you.

You can blank out your avatar and nickname, close any links to your 360, IM or email, delete your open questions and answers, set your Network and Q%26amp;A to private. Then just leave. That make sense? (Its like a security procedure. They also have routers that randomly change the IP address to prevent hackers)

If you have been shutdown by YA they have the right to cancel your email address attached to your answers account. I know this because I got a violation (only one!) - sent me running scared and I checked the terms and I noticed the bit about they have the right to close down your email too. I swiftly swithed to a new ID and email as I really needed that particular email address and couldn't risk losing it. Give it an hour and try again just incase there is a gremlin in the system.
Reply:Yes when your account is removed because of violations on Yahoo Answers it removes the whole account because Yahoo Answers is only a part of your Main Yahoo ID. It also removes your 360 page and anything else you have with that ID.

This is for the Person (and you know I know who you are). By tracing the IP address of where you email account was last accessed (12:22 am on 8/18/06 and 8:27 am 8/18/06) you can tell the exact location and by what server your account was accessed. Then you can file a POLICE report against that individual to document their stalking...

My wife's account on Yahoo was suspended a week ago, she get a message claiming its for 48 hours for her own protection, emails sent to her bounce back with message account is suspended.

I tried Yahoo's help, its free account, they keep sending me emails saying "...............wheels of progress are in motion...", they ask every two days for some clarifications, and still I am stuck. Any clue from anyone? Is Yahoo mail coming down?

they say they allow to send attachment at maximum 50 MB. as others have mentioned, a receiver might have a problems to receive such a big file, so you need him/her to have a huge mailbox :)

Split your files 50MB in 6 parts , u can do this with winrar winzip and so one, i use winrar and i make it self extract so

when my email reach the destination and all 6 files are in the same place with 2 click i will have all the 50 MB without the other person to have winrar on his machine.

So my point is split use selfextract and u will resolv this problem verry good.

Reply:Problem is that both the sender and receiver have to be capable to get/give such large emails. If everyone on the Internet sent emails like this the whole system would slow down and be useless ... like freeways if we all drive semi-trucks.

There is a program called split %26amp; uuencode that can send emails in pieces ... in other words there are programs that the sender %26amp; receiver can get that allows large files to be cut up and emailed in acceptable chunks and reassembled by the receiever.

If you just want to send large files try ftp or http instead. Or you can snail mail a CD.
