I got an email supposedly from YAHOO wanting to verify my account info it was asking for my security password?
It's a scam. Yahoo! would never request personal information in an unsolicited email. "Phishing" for your private information These deceptive emails are used to commit identity theft, and lock you out of your yahoo account by changing your password DO NOT respond. See what yahoo say with link below.

You can report this with the phishing form below.

You can forward the email to.

phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com.
Reply:It's FAKE!!!

NO email provider or even banks send emails to their customers/ registered users asking for passwords. Remember all passwords are stored on the system- if Yahoo wants to verify something they will check it themselves. They will never ask you for it. No matter how genuine the email looks, dont answer it. Report it to Yahoo..i think the address is abuse@yahoo or something dont know, check it.

DO NOT GIVE YOUR DETAILS!
Reply:It's a fake. Yahoo already knows your password and will never ask you for it. This technique is called phishing and is very effective due to the general stupidity of computer users. You should go to the link in my sources for more information.
Reply:It is not real. They will never ask you for such information.

You should find a number or email address to contact them at. I believe you can forward that email to them and they will find out who sent it and have them removed.

The email you forward that to is: phishing@cc.yahoo-inc.com.

I also included an extra link below for future help.

Reply:DO NOT reply. This is a phishing scam attempting to get you to give them all your personal info. It's not from Yahoo, just delete it and ignore it. Good luck and be careful.
Reply:YAHOO WILL NEVER ASK FOR YOUR PASSWORD VIA E-MAIL. THIS IS A SCAM TO GET YOUR LOGIN INFORMATION.
Reply:No, don't do it. It's a phishing scam trying to steal your information. Report it to the real Yahoo and then delete it. My friends and I got them too.
Reply:I don't find this normal. Yahoo would have no reason to ask your security password.
Reply:they don't need your password. no, it's not for real
