If your answers account gets suspended, does the email one get suspended too?

A friend of mine suspects their yahoo answers account has been suspended, if so, does this include their email account too and also her son has been suspended too so can yahoo suspend a whole household by their ip address too?

Yes you can get your whole Yahoo account suspended. It depends on the violation. Too many violations of the Yahoo Answers Community Guidelines can result in suspension of your Answers account. Just one violation of the Yahoo Terms of Service though, can result in your entire Yahoo account being terminated (Yahoo Terms of Service is in place for all Yahoo products and services).



Reply:Their Y!A messages would be suspended but not their mail account - you need that to find out you are suspended! They send a violation notice. So you still have a Yahoo account, but not a Y!A account - but as one is linked to the other, you might need a new Yahoo account to get back to Y!A.





And I doubt they'd suspend by IP address - that would kill whole sites that act as proxies (e.g for companies). You're not allowed to infer a relationship based on email address.

Reply:No, just you're Account with "Yahoo Answers" gets suspended.





You can still use you're existing Email Account,..but if you want to re-join Yahoo Answers,..you will need to set-up a "Sub-Account" so you can access and rejoin Y! again.





Once you have done that,you can flick between you're old Email Account and new one for Y! by clicking "Sign-in" on you're Browser,..as it will show you're two Email address's that you have got.!





If you want to divert the mail you will get from Y! in you're New Account and have it sent to you're existing Old Account,you can set-up "Mail Forwarding".
Reply:When your account is suspended your email is also terminated but not straight away.





You have 7 days to appeal an account suspension and unless you appeal and win your account remains suspended for ever and your email will be terminated.
Reply:Your YA account will be suspended and you will not be able to receive messages via YA but your YA account will remain active.
Reply:Ive been suspended 5 times and each time my email account has stayed in place. It's just suspended me from the actual Answers.
