Is there any email account superior to Gmail?

Unfortunately, yes.

The most important thing in chosing an email provider is to chose one that let's you send and receive email.

Unfortunately, gmail is used quite often as a source field in spam. As such, the IP Address of the gmail servers keep getting blacklisted all over the internet.

What this means is that if you use gmail in sending email, it quite often does not get to the recipient.

I use gmail to receive email for certain accounts, but route the outbound email through another provider. This is because much of my email goes to corporations and many of them intermittantly blacklist gmails SMTP servers.

I am actually in the process of moving my domains email accounts to another provider with tighter controls on who sends mail from their servers.

Good Question. I wish google would get ontop of this battle as I like the interface. Bottom line, I need my email to work all the time, not just look nice.

No - but the only thing I don't like about Gmail is that you can't see a list of your contacts when you are composing a new message. So if someone, say, sends me a joke and I want to see all my list of contacts to think about who else might enjoy it, I can't do that. I either have to remember people off the top of my head or else go into my contact list and pick from there and THEN put them in the new message, and then go back and get the joke... That's probably the only thing that bugs me about Gmail.
Reply:there is indeed, googlemail , oh wait thats gmail. I am yet to find one that is better than gmail, but to be honest google is the best at what it does even so microsoft are scared of them and so they should be with googles operating system in progress. voye me for best answer
Reply:No but often Gmail does lack certain features such as Yahoo's "tabbed" emailing as seen in the new Yahoo mail.
Reply:I can't fault my btyahoo account as it enables me to have full control over how I create my folder structure just as in Windows.
Reply:As above No...

I have several mail accounts all routing through my GMail account.

It has a lot of features included free that most other providers charge for...
